SaveMyPix.com, the Thornton-based company that specializes in bulk transfers of photos, slides and negatives to more easily manage digital media, has moved into the video transfer arena. According to company owner Monica Messinger, the expansion was based on popular demand.
"As we explained our service to customers at our Granite Run Mall kiosk, we received hundreds of requests for the transfer of home movies and video tapes to DVDs. It made perfect sense for us to expand our services to include video. After all, the whole reason we started SaveMyPix was to help people preserve their most precious memories."
"The machines people once used to view their video and film images are rapidly becoming obsolete in the digital world, and old video tapes and film are quickly decaying," she says. "Digital transfer of these memories to DVD or other electronic media is the only chance we have of saving these video recordings."
Aside from using the newest technology for video and film transfer, Messinger stresses that the company is also using only the most-qualified, most-experienced transfer technicians to handle their customers' valuable images.
Video tape transfers can be made from VHS, 8mm video, digital 8mm (Hi8), miniDV, BetaMax, as well as professional video tape.
Home movie transfers can be converted from regular 8mm, super 8mm and 16mm (sound and silent, optical or magnetic) film.
Film cleaning removes hair and dust, and broken splices and film breaks are repaired.
