Make it Metal

Sleek, funky, cutting-edge, sophisticated—you can strike any look with today's metal signage. Of course, no matter what materials they're made of, the best signs are designed to resonate with the retailer's target customer base and help convey a retailer's identity. But even more important is just getting noticed in the first place—and there's where metals can really make your store shine.

Spirit, Ink's cool silver-on-silver look plays off the funky typeface nicely and a drop-shadow makes the text pop. All elements combine into one cohesive image that reflects the playful nature of the custom-printed and embroidered "spiritwear" the store offers.

Liquid's look, with a base that looks like flowing liquid metal and an original typeface on top, definitely speaks to the younger set searching for Liquid's body art.

Striking a more sophisticated feel in keeping with its clientele, The Studio Waxing Salon uses a fresh lime green drop shadow, placed a bit off-kilter, which livens up the presentation and gives the type depth.

Fara J Shoe Outlet uses an oversized shoe graphic with bold colors on the base, topped by a flowing contemporary typeface that has high-fashion overtones. With extra shine and bright colors, this is a sign that's bound to get noticed.

The red-on-silver of this Hoosier Eye Doctor sign draws the eye, and the black eyeglasses integrated into the store name visually hit home the product-line point in an instant. The red color also plays off the local Indiana University Hoosiers team colors, giving the store a personal connection with the community and its customers.

From the gold overtones to the store name, Pooch'et, to the pup's nose in the air and the subdued blue accent color, every element of this sign conveys one idea: upscale pet products sold here. The custom hand-sanded satin finish catches the light—and shoppers' attention.
